Regional District issues evacuation alert, sends out sand bags

first_imgIn anticipation of receiving another 80 to 115 millimetres of rain over a three-day period, the Peace River Regional District has issued an evacuation alert for certain areas and is also sending out sand and sand bags.The areas on evacuation alert are all south of Dawson Creek and include the communities of Gundy, Tupper, Tomslake, One Island Lake and Kelly Lake. The alert means residents in those areas should prepare to evacuate their properties if deemed necessary..- Advertisement -The areas receiving flood supplies are One Island Provincial Park, Tomslake Fire Hall, Tupper Hall, Kelly Lake Community Centre, Ivor Johnson Park in Hasler, the ‘Old’ truck stop near Wildmare Road and at the CRS yard, where Highway 52 meets Highway 2.Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for the south and central Peace River Region and a High Streamflow Advisory has been issued by the B.C.
