Dead & Company To Host Charity Outreaches At Each Stop Of Summer Tour

first_imgBeloved Grateful ensemble Dead & Company set off on a major summer tour beginning this Friday, June 10th! With the tour opener in North Carolina, the band has pledged $100,000 in donations for LGBTQ charities, and will welcome two outreach groups, Equality NC and Time Out Youth Center, to their ongoing Participation Row charity outreach area.HeadCount, the voter-positive non-profit group with Bob Weir on its board of directors, has revealed to us that Participation Row will be active at every Dead & Company performance this summer. As 2016 is a Presidential election year, every citizen has the civic duty of voting in America. To encourage voter turnout, each Participation Row will feature booths from HeadCount, REVERB, who are co-organizing the Participation Row, and Clean Energy Advisors, who will be powering the Row and providing a solar power phone charging station.Anyone who takes action at these booths will receive a free VOTE pin and will be entered to win a D’Angelico lightning bolt guitar signed by all members of Dead & Company. There will also be a signed item auction at various stops along the tour, with all proceeds split evenly between the member sof Participation Row. Other groups that will be in attendance include Rainforest Action Network, NORML (National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws), and more!Check out the design for the VOTE pin and signed D’Angelico, below.last_img
